There is a reason for opening cars primarily with coat hangers.
Indeed, if you want to lockpick a standard 10-plate cylinder lock*, you have a tough challenge on your hands.
You will get them open mainly by remaining very stubborn. In addition, you need a little luck on your side and some skills.

The Gridlock set lets you develop these skills further. The set contains no less than three car locks with increasing difficulty.
The locks become progressively more difficult. The Gridlock set includes three waferlocks*, one with 3 wafers, one with 6, and a full lock with 10 wafers. With this, you can improve your skills on car locks at home.
Wafer picking is totally different from lockpicking pin cylinder locks (pin tumblers), this set will teach you.

A standard pin cylinder lock is cut at the top so that the pins are placed to the correct position.
A plate cylinder lock is cut on both the top and bottom. This places plates on both sides to open the lock.

Learning a rocking technique or other lockpick technique for these waferlocks is a skill in itself…. With these skills, one day you will earn your well-deserved high five or perhaps a good lawyer in a courtroom.

The Gridlock set comes with three progressive Disc Detainer Locks and an automotive tension wrench to put tension on Disc Detainer Locks. The locks are made of solid aluminum and are in perfect proportion to a classic car lock.

*Disc Detainer Locks are called waferlocks in English.
