Multipick 2 Lever Lock Pick Set – For 2-Lever Locks

This is the smaller sibling of the 3 lever lock pick set. Where that set gives you 15 picks, this one contains a compact selection of 7 picks. Simply because old locks with two levers are considerably simpler than their bigger counterparts.

When Do You Use This Set?

2-lever locks are often the most basic form of lever locks. You’ll find them on:

  • Old filing cabinets and desks
  • Antique chests and suitcases
  • Simple door locks in older buildings

Like the 3-lever variant, you’ll find them often in England and Southern Europe, with brands like YALE, UNION and LEGGE.

Note: Not for Modern Locks

This set only works on old lever locks. For regular door locks with pins, you need a standard lock pick set. The working principle is completely different.

Why 7 Picks Are Enough

With 2-lever locks you need less variation because the mechanism is simpler. Multipick has selected the most commonly used profiles for this set. The tools are made from the same hardened steel as the more expensive sets, so you don’t sacrifice quality.

The picks are thin enough to fit in narrow old door locks — locks with extra metal curtains designed to prevent unauthorized picks.

Recommendation

If you work with antiques regularly or frequently encounter old suitcases and cabinets, this is a handy addition. The price is lower than the 3-lever set, which makes sense given the fewer picks.

For those who work with many different old locks, I recommend having both the 2-lever and 3-lever sets. That way you’re prepared for both types. But if you mainly want to learn modern locks, start with a regular lock pick set.

The instructions Multipick includes are clear enough to get you started, though practice remains essential to develop the feel.
