Rock’A Lock’A BANG BANG!

Sparrows is organizing a lockpicking event held in an actual prison. During this event, you’ll receive intensive training and participate in exciting activities. ROCK’A LOCK’A BANG BANG 2024 offers a unique experience for all lockpicking enthusiasts, and I’m excited to see how this event will unfold. You’ll have the opportunity to test your lockpicking skills and meet many other people during the event. In my opinion, it’s a fantastic initiative by Sparrows.

General Information about the Event

ROCK’A LOCK’A BANG BANG 2024 will take place from September 5th to 8th in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. This year, it’s being held in a real prison, providing an unparalleled experience. I haven’t received confirmation from Sparrows yet, but I suspect it’s this prison.

Accommodation and Catering

Participants of the Sparrows lockpicking event will stay at the Ramada Hotel. During the event, you can choose between shared or private rooms. Meals are included, with breakfast at the hotel and real American BBQs during the event. That sounds delicious.

Intensive Training and Exciting Activities

During Rock’A Lock’A Bang Bang, you’ll have many opportunities to train different lockpicking skills. You can choose training paths like lockpicking, lock bypass, SERE, covert entry, and lock impressioning. There are also advanced trainings such as breaching, RFID work, vehicle locks, night vision training, hostage rescue, and escape techniques.

Fireball Enduro Racing

Something that has nothing to do with lockpicking but is just insanely cool is the Fireball Enduro Racing. I don’t know if you played this before or if it’s still relevant, but it’s similar to Destruction Derby on a dirt oval track. For an additional fee, you can have a custom race car built and participate in this exciting race.

Expert Lockpick Instructors

All training sessions are led by experts, including former RECON, military personnel, and winners of international lockpicking competitions. This ensures a high level of instruction and guidance.

The Final Challenge

On the last day, participants will be split into teams and given realistic tasks to complete in the prison. I’d love it if you could experience some kind of Prison Break adventure here, but I can’t confirm that yet. It remains a big surprise!

Extras and Special Activities

As you’d expect, besides training and activities, you can also get prison tattoos. There will be alcoholic drinks, sponsored by SKULL HAWK Whiskey and local craft beer. On the first evening, there’s a Meet & Greet to get to know the other participants.

Logistics and Transport

Shuttle buses will be provided from Montreal Airport (YUL) to Cornwall. Although safety measures are in place during the (sometimes quite extreme) activities, participants are required to sign a waiver. So, Rambo-style training might not be a bad idea!

Participation and Community

The event is open to anyone over the age of 19, regardless of their lockpicking or military training experience. Sparrows encourages solo travel to help you integrate quickly into the group and meet new people!
