Core Shims (20-Piece)

Core shims are designed for locks that have no protective collar between the cylinder and the lock body.

This is a surprisingly common feature on Lower and some other security locks in the middle.

The attack is simple: wedge the Core shim over the core and slide it back until it stops.

When the shim stops, it is due to top pin of the first pin stack.

With a lockpick, you can slowly lift the first pin until the shim finds the gap between the top and bottom pin and slides through the gap.

Because you cover the breaking line with the Core shim, you can use the tension wrench to open the lock.

This container has 25 Core shims .

Tips:

• You don’t have to use a tension wrench to the end to open the lock.
• If the Core shim can slide between the core and the lock frame, chances are it will work.
• If you can touch the first pin with a straight Core shim, this bypass method will work.
• Handles for Core shims exist, but it is easier to use them without a handle.
• Core shims are easy to use and have a high “wow” factor.
