These two ball picks from Sparrows are intended for advanced lockpickers who want to open wafer locks using the rake technique. A ball pick follows the double pins of a wafer lock, where a regular hook or rake often struggles. Handy as an addition to your existing set, but not as a first purchase.

What’s included in the set?

Here you buy two individual picks with a bare metal handle:

• 1 single ball pick with a single round ball at the tip
• 1 double ball pick with two balls stacked on top of each other

Both picks are made of 0.025 inch steel, or 0.635 mm thick. This is the standard thickness from Sparrows and fits in most keyholes. The handle is raw metal without coating, so you can put heat shrink grips around it if you want more grip. Sparrows honestly states: some love it, others do not. With some practice, they work just fine.
