Petersons DCAP (Deep Cut Access Picks) series lock picks are made with a shorter “shank” length, allowing you pinformations that are inaccessible to normal picks.

These DCAP series are often used, when the key’s deepest groove is near the neck. In other words, these picks go easier over a high placed pin early in the lock.

Many locksmiths arrange the pins of their locks this way. In fact, they take into account that with lockpicking, you are quick to place the first pin first. When the lockpick is in the lock, the shaft of the pick often comes up against the front pins. As a result, the chances of successfully opening the lock decrease significantly. 

In some cases, you come across an unfamiliar lock and just can’t get it open. Although the Euro-picks often already provide a solution, sometimes they cannot help sufficiently. In such cases, it is nice to have the DCAP picks on hand.

This is a GSP (Government Steel Plastic) handle product from Peterson. This means that the lockpick has a solid handle made of hard fibers that transmit all the vibrations in the lock well to the tips of your fingers. The light weight of the pick makes them extra nimble and sensitive.
