The Multipick cylinder breaker is a tool for snapping off protruding Euro profile cylinders. It works by clamping the cylinder and then breaking it off.
You slide the breaker tube over the protruding cylinder. The clamping jaws are tightened with the allen key. By making left-right movements, the cylinder breaks at its weak point — the screw hole in the side of the cylinder.
The clamping jaws have an internal profile that fits around the cylinder. The jaws have milled grooves that bite into the cylinder material, preventing the cylinder from slipping during the breaking process.
The clamping jaws are tightened with an allen key via a large screw, providing enough force to hold the cylinder firmly.
Euro profile cylinders have a mounting screw on the side. A hole is drilled in the cylinder housing for this screw, weakening the material. Brass is brittle at this point. By rocking back and forth, the cylinder breaks at this location.
You make gentle left-right movements. The cylinder breaks into two parts. The coupling between the two cylinder halves becomes visible. You remove the coupling. Then use an actuator key to open the lock.
The breaker tube is milled from tempered special steel. The surface is burnished. The tool weighs 1.35 kilograms.
The breaker tube works with a cylinder protrusion from approximately 2 millimeters.
