How to Use the HPC EZ-1?
The saw tooth extractor works best when you slide it over the “shelf” of the keyway – that’s the flat surface at the top or bottom where there are normally no grooves in the key. With double-sided keys, you have such a shelf both top and bottom.
Step-by-step approach:
- Carefully slide the extractor over the top of the keyway

- Once you’re about halfway, push the extractor slightly downward at an angle for extra grip
- Gently pull while maintaining the angle – the saw teeth grip the key fragment
