Why TOK tension wrenches are so important

Set of five flat bars for TOK (Top Of Keyway) tension on the lock. And believe me, this really makes a difference.

This allows you to place the tension wrench close to the pins, giving you much more space for your other lockpick tools. Especially with locks that have a narrow keyway, this is a game-changer.

Different thicknesses for every lock

One of the most essential elements of lockpicking is a good tension wrench for the right tension. These five flat bar tension wrenches each provide different control over the cylinder core.

What I particularly like: some flat bars have notches for extra grip, while others do not for when that is not desired. So you always have the right tool at hand.

My experience

Each of the five flat bars offers a different style of grip, depending on what the lock needs. I find that I use the 0.64 mm a lot for European cylinders, while the thicker 1.01 mm is perfect for American locks.

The Dog Ear variant with the notches really gives you more control, especially with stiff locks where you need to apply a bit more force without the wrench slipping.

Note: TOK tension requires a bit more feel and practice than BOK (Bottom Of Keyway), but once mastered, you get much better feedback from the lock.
