This lock pick is made of 0.015″ Government Steel and then pressed into a blue plastic handle. This pick is from Peterson’s thinnest series of lock picks.

Although this pick is thinner than the 0.018″ picks, it does not have a “Euro” neck reduction like the 0.018″ picks do have. This has Peterson deliberately done so that despite its thin profile, this lockpick offers more power than the 0.018″ lockpick series.
The extremely thin profile of 0.015″ makes this lockpick very useful for narrow keyholes.

Please note that this pick is specifically designed to provide access in narrow keyholes where standard picks will not fit. This narrowing of the width naturally makes the picks slightly less sturdy.
If you want to use these thin picks in wider keyholes, it means you no longer have the lateral support of the two walls in the keyhole. For narrow keyholes, this lockpick could still get support from this though. If you are heavy handed, this pick may bend sideways or even break under high pressure in locks with wide keyholes.
